The project must have a minimum value of €5m (or equivalent in local currency) and be currently under construction or very recently completed. You must submit details of the project to John Hanahoe and not proceed without receiving approval. You are required to produce a detailed report on the management approach and management systems used for the chosen building or civil engineering project. The report should be a minimum of 5,000 words (not including appendices) and address the following 1. The purpose, scope and extent of the building or civil engineering project including the estimated construction cost, project duration and key milestones 2. The project contractual arrangement(s) and organisational structure(s) to include the role of the client, the designer(s) and the construction team and their interrelationships 3. The management systems used on the project (e.g. for HSEQ) and whether they are formally accredited 4. The management of information on the project and the technologies including software used. You should evaluate the approaches used on the project against best practice as identified in the literature and in the lectures given to support this module. The report should be fully referenced in accordance with the Harvard Reference System. Your report will be processed using Turnitin and you will be required to complete and sign a plagiarism declaration. The completed report must be submitted via Moodle (John Hanahoe’s Project Management module) no later than 12noon on 1St September 2015. You are required to be available for interview by Skype on the 7th, 8th or 9th of September 2015. The precise date and time of the Skype interview will be available to you from 2nd September 2015 by contacting John Hanahoe.
