Program Evaluation and Research

Order Description Please answer each question below separately with in text citation for each question. Thank you. 1. Logic Models in CBPR Consider the following case: Community members want to address the high rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in their community. They ask you as a researcher to help them learn about the risk factors for transmitting STDs and evidence-based programs available for reducing those risks. Using the principles of CBPR, develop a logic model for a program. Integrate appropriate measures and evidence-based practices into the program. Discuss appropriate measures for evaluating community buy-in and potential outcomes. 2. Communicating and Using CBPR Data For this discussion, refer to Chapter 4 of Community-Based Participatory Research. Then address the following in your post: How does the process of disseminating study results differ in a CBPR project when compared to a program evaluation? How can community partners use data from a CBPR project to take action? 3. Dealing With Community Change in CBPR For this discussion, refer to Chapter 5 of Community-Based Participatory Research. Then consider the following scenario: You have gotten a grant to conduct a CBPR project about the high rates of sexually transmitted diseases in your community. However, the community leader you were working with has moved away and you discover that the community is conflicted about this project. Discuss how you would address this controversy and reengage the community. 4. Ethics in CBPR Discuss the balance of ethics when conducting community-based research, specifically when exploring a controversial public health issue, such as controlling the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Are there times when protecting an individual might harm a community—or vice versa? Present an example of when an individual is harmed but the community is protected during CBPR. Also present an example of when a community is harmed but the individual is protected. 5. Potential CBPR Project and Engagement Plan Answer the following questions in your discussion post: What are your ideas for doing a community-based participatory research project in your community? Who would be the partners and how would you engage them? 6. Advantages of CBPR For this discussion, refer to Table 7.2 in Community-Based Participatory Research. In your own words, reflect upon, and answer, the following question: What are the advantages of CBPR over traditional research?
