Primary source essay

Write a short argumentative essay based on a close reading of two short primary sources that provided in two separate files. (White Paper and Red paper.)
Goal: to better understand the different policies proposed by both the Government of Canada and Indigenous peoples themselves with regard to Indigenous-Canadian relations in the late 1960s and early 1970s
• In other words, why and how did the Canadian government seek to change Indigenous-Canadian relations, how did
Indigenous peoples react to this proposal, and what sort of counterproposal did they offer?
– Answer to these questions should act as your THESIS STATEMENT
• The goal therefore not to argue for or against one proposal or another, but to present the two sides of the conversation/ argument and explain why Indigenous peoples did not accept the White Paper.
1000 words or 4 pages, 12 pt New Roman, 1-inch margin and double spaced.
