Porter’s Five Forces Model

and and read the first two chapters of the book (Strategic Management and Competitive Advantage (4th edition or later) by Barney & Hesterly) answer the following questions in an essay form, each question 2-3 paragraphs.

1- Apply Porter’s Five Forces Model to the case (use hard evidence). Use the “5 Forces Worksheet” document in the Files (or Pages) folder on Canvas (Attach your worksheet as an Appendix and explain your reasoning behind your choices of Y, N or N/A). Is the smartphone industry attractive to be in? Which of the 5 Forces should a company in the industry pay attention to or focus on to make its business worthwhile?
2- Based on your 5 forces analysis, if you were a top manager of Samsung, what strategic direction would you take to achieve and sustain competitive advantage? Make sure to include an explanation of alternatives and your choice of optimal alternative. Justify your choice.
How does Porter’s 5 forces model help managers make strategic decisions? 3- Are there any limitations of Porter’s model? Are there other things above and beyond the 5 forces model that should be considered? Why?
4-(Christian application) The 5 Forces model is assumed upon competition. Are there ways that firms in Samsung's industry can compete in ways that are productive for the common good and human flourishing? Another example of firms addressing competition is exerting power on a company's suppliers to achieve cost advantages. Are there ways, from a Biblical view, to address this issue?
