Police Brutality

This is the proposal below to go by when writing the final paper.
Thesis
Police brutality is now a concern all over the world, as it violates human rights. Many
police officers have been posted and seen on social media platforms harassing suspects and
innocent civilians and sometimes even beating them to death. Despite that crime is an offence, no
one deserve death, more so, in the hands of police officers.
Introduction
In this 21st century alone, media has exposed several police officers abusing their powers
against innocent bystanders and those caught while committing crimes. Many of the cases have
shown police officers shooting and sometimes even using excessive force or condescending tone
towards people of colour. With the recent example being that of George Floyd’s; many people
now believe that the police officers are selective and overall unfair on their duty. Also, some
suggest that the police are trained to protect their communities, and they would do everything it
takes to keep them safe. Nevertheless, police brutality violates human rights through unjustified
shootings, rough treatments, fatal choking and severe beating that many times end in the death of
innocent citizens. In this regard, the research study will look at some of the recent cases of police
brutality in America. Then use those cases to discuss the causes and possible ways to curb such.
