Poetry

    Visit the local library, a bookstore, or https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems and gather at least four poems of your choice that appear within one poetry collection (book of poems) and write a 1.5 page summary and analysis* of these poems.     (a)When analyzing, consider how the poetry elements are utilized in this work. These elements are: formal and free verse, working with sound, the poetic line, imagery, connotation, metaphor, density and intensity, finding the poem, poetry format. To Analyze is to provide a "detailed examination of the elements or structure of something, typically as a basis for discussion or interpretation." (b)When summarizing, make sure to mention what occurs in the beginning, middle, and end of the work(s).
