Although the man in the well appears to be in the well accidentally and Poe's Fortunato was confined in the wall on purpose, presumably the man in the well and Fortunato both die. Montresor, obviously, murdered Fortunato in "cold blood." How might the children be seen as equally culpable as Montresor?
