Planning for math instruction in a weekly format

This project is designed to give you a view of planning for math instruction in a weekly format as is required of
teachers in the field. Keep in mind that Math learning is built on a foundation of previous math understanding.
Guided Mathematics along with Math Stations, according to educational research, is considered to be the most
developmentally appropriate and best practice for the teaching of math in elementary grades and beyond.
Meeting students where they are and moving them to where they need to go is the goal of our instruction.
As a veteran classroom teacher, I understand the difficulty you may experience by planning without specific
students in mind. I firmly believe that having this experience will better prepare you for the reality of the
classroom.
