In at least 3-4 pages (750-1000 words), discuss a particular physical space that could be read as a text (which could include your campus, a specific public space such as Zilker Park, the Domain, or the Texas State Capitol, a neighborhood like Downtown Austin, South Congress, or East Austin, or some other physical space that functions as a text. Discuss who the author and audience might be, and what the author might be communicating to the audience – what the purpose might be.
(For instance, a mall might be inviting customers to shop, a park might encourage visitors to enjoy the park and contribute to its upkeep by not littering, a monument might encourage visitors to reflect and remember a certain person’s contribution.)
