Philosophy of science relates to the foundations

Philosophy of science relates to the foundations, methods and the purpose of science which affects one’s worldview. Worldview is the framework of ideas and beliefs that shapes how an individual view the world - human nature, what makes something wrong or right, true or false, real or imagined; attitudes and assumptions. (Babbie, 2017). Ther e are three main philosophical worldviews that underlings research approach namely logical positivism (verifiable observations, method used in scientific generation of knowledge, prediction and control); postpositivism (determination, deduction, empirical observation and measurement, with verification of theory); and constructivism (generation of theory, meaning and knowledge generated by interaction and experience). However, the orientations that most closely aligns with my worldview and research approach are the postpositivism and constructivism.
