Philosophy of Law

Compare and contrast how these political philosophies: Utilitarianism and Libertarianism, would have us
answer this question: Should something be done to close or narrow the significant income and wealth gap
between the rich and the poor, and between the rich and everyone else? Take side. Explain which political
philosophy answers the question in the right way and for the right reasons. Defend your view against a fairminded criticism from the political philosophy you reject.
Papers should be 6 pages, double-spaced with 1-inch margins, no cover page. Use a proper citation style.
In your paper, use direct and concise language. Your paper should demonstrate mastery of a portion of the
material covered in class as well as demonstrate your ability to think on your own about an important
political matter. I have attached the two chapters of Utilitarianism and Libertarianism from which you should
use to help answer these questions, do NOT copy from the book.
