Persuasive Critique

For your second theory critique, I would like you to critique the assumptions of one of the persuasive theories. Please choose among cognitive dissonance, social judgment theory, and elaboration likelihood model. Please answer the following questions.

Which paradigm (objective or interpretive) is your theory best classified as? What paradigmatic assumptions are associated with that paradigm? (See the ?Paradigmatic Assumptions? slide from the first week of class). Are these assumptions a good fit for the theory? Why or why not?

What additional assumptions are specific to the theory you chose? (See the ?Assumptions? slide for the theory you chose, and think of your own assumptions). For each, are these assumptions valid? How could they be checked?
