Order Description My instruction: The paper is already done, I need you to edit the paper that I will upload, please open the file with microsoft word and please follow my instructor comment, I got a 0 for the paper but fortunately my instructor give me a last chance to revise the paper. Here are the instruction for the assignment before: Paper 3: Remarkable Creatures Paper Guidelines Book:Remarkable creatures by Tracy Chevaller ( ebook also available ) Your research paper is a fully documented (MLA) critical analysis of some aspect of Remarkable Creatures worthy of attention, exploration, and evaluation. This project is worth 20% of your grade. For the paper, you may choose one of a variety of critical approaches to the text, including a historical, sociological, cultural, or interdisciplinary approach. These approaches are explained in your short story anthology on pages 878-904. The paper must have a minimum of 1500 words on typed, correctly-formatted pages plus a works cited page. The central focus and plan of your essay should be clear in the thesis sentence, which should appear as the last sentence in your introductory paragraph. The body paragraphs of your essay should take the form of a standard argument, containing an assertion in the topic sentence and supported by primary textual evidence and secondary critical sources. Remember, you are analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting the primary text in light of the historical, scientific, biographical, or interdisciplinary approach you are taking, not simply retelling the novel. You must finish with a concise conclusion, which is not merely a restatement of the thesis statement. You must write in the third person (no “I” or “You”). You must cite at least five (5) peer-reviewed scholarly secondary sources in addition to providing evidence from the primary source and attach a Works Cited page to your essay. Therefore, you will have a minimum of six (6) sources listed. Remember to evaluate carefully the validity of your sources. Do not use Google or other internet-based search engines to find sources. Sources accessed through the library databases, especially Academic Search Complete, Project Muse, JStor, and the Literature Resource Center are the most appropriate for literary research. You must use the full text of the article as your source, not an abstract or summary. Likewise, book reviews are not considered scholarly sources. Sources such as Cliff’s Notes, Spark Notes, Masterplots, and e-notes and websites like articlemyriad.com and helium.com are not appropriate for college-level work. General dictionaries and encyclopedias, including dictionary.com, Encarta.com, and Wikepedia.com, do not count as sources. Likewise, while you might reference the Bible to explain an allusion, it does not count toward your required six sources. Points to keep in mind: Quotations must support your position and be thoroughly analyzed. Every quotation must be introduced and explained; therefore, no paragraphs will begin or end with quotes. No quotations should appear in your thesis statement. You may not use more than two long quotes; you may opt not to use any long quotes. Do not “pad” your paper with excessively long quotes. All quotes, paraphrases, and summaries must be carefully documented with parenthetical citations. Failure to do so constitutes plagiarism and will not be tolerated. Papers that contain plagiarized material will receive a zero (0). Students who plagiarize will also fail the course and be reported to the dean for academic discipline. Secondary sources should be used to support your argument/interpretation of the text. You are not simply writing a report of other critics’ interpretations of the novel. Poor grammar, mechanics, and language control will sabotage your hard work and may result in a failing grade. In fact, papers that are so poorly proofread that they are nonsensical will receive a zero. The essay must be polished and professional, so submit your best work. This paper constitutes 20% of your final grade! Secondary sources must be analyzed, annotated, and highlighted/underlined and submitted with your evaluations for approval. Students are strongly encouraged to see the professor at least once during office hours. Papers that show no evidence of research, even if sources are listed on a Works Cited page, have failed to meet the fundamental requirements of the assignment and will receive a zero (0). Papers that fail to meet the minimum 1500 word length requirement have also failed to meet the fundamental requirements of the assignment and will receive a zero (0). Papers that do not cite five peer-reviewed scholarly sources will receive a zero (0). Papers must be submitted in hard copy format and via the Paper Assignment Drop Box in D2L at the beginning of class on the due date. All papers must be word-processed, double-spaced from top to bottom, and include the appropriate heading and headers. Use a one-inch margin all around, Times New Roman 12 pt. font. You must have an original title; the title of the novel may not be used as the title of your essay. Remember to argue about literature in the present tense, but write about historical events in the past tense. Use the “Writing Workshops” handout to help you proofread and edit your paper. Be sure to take advantage of the Thesis/Outline check and the Works Cited check. I can get you back on track if you are having problems. Note: Submit your paper as a.docx or .rtf attachment in the D2L drop box. Include your last name as the first word of the file name: Wilson Paper 3. How to Fail the Research Paper: Do not submit 1500 words. Congratulations! You get a zero!!!! Do not cite the required six (5) peer-reviewed scholarly secondary sources. Yippee!!!!! You get a zero!!!! Write a plot summary. Bingo! Zero!!!!! Plagiarize. Bravo! That’s right, you get a zero, and you win other exciting prizes: fail the course; say goodbye to 1302; meet the dean for disciplinary action!!!!!
