You will write a research proposal that supports qualitative research and data collection using one of methods we have read about (ex. Ethnography, focus groups, interviews, case studies, etc.). You will not actually conduct the study; just provide the research questions and method you are proposing.
Your final paper should be 16 - pages, double-spaced, using APA style. You will want to use a minimum of 18 credible and reliable academic sources from your literature review or other sources.
- Introduce one of the topic ideas you identified – See attached research proposal for topic.
Revise your literature review and add in any new sources, to support the proposed qualitative research project. - Write at least two research questions that your study will answer, and that come from your literature review– See attached research proposal for the two questions.
- For the method, include this information in this order:
o Make a clear statement about the type of study you are conducting and the artifacts you will analyze. Qualitative is the general method but be specific about the type of qualitative study. Justify why this method is appropriate for this study.
o Discuss and justify (with sources) the selection of artifacts and the importance of examining these artifacts in this study. The selection of artifacts needs to be narrow enough to ensure you are not overwhelmed, but not so narrow that you cannot locate enough artifacts to analyze. Discuss which artifacts and types of materials you will not include. It is crucial that your method clearly defines what you will and will not analyze and, if excluding anything, why.
o Discuss the date range of artifacts you will examine, how you will gather them, and the estimated number of items you will examine. Give supported rationale for these decisions.
o Describe and discuss the analysis method and the appropriateness of using the method for this study, and theoretical considerations in using this method.
o Discuss any issues you might encounter that might affect the selection and/or analysis of the artifacts.
