Operations and Process Management

Critically analyze and evaluate an operation from any company in the UK, using one or two of the topics from Operations Strategy/ Operations Design / Capacity Managment / Quality Management /Statistical Process Control / Improvement ( Lean). Important to focus on Depth over breadth! I advise choosing one topic, but where you pick two topics they should be closely related. Repeating interesting facts about the operation are only that: "interesting", unless these facts are accompanied by analysis, insight and critical thinking they will not contribute to a good mark.Performing a 4Vs analysis, dissecting the definition of the customer or the operation type, or even analysis of the Performance Objectives do not count as your 'topic' of choice. Done correctly, these frameworks will help structure the overview of the operation (and for the best students will be the backbone of the introduction/ overview). Its very important to add relevant graphs and charts where required and refer these in your analysis.
