In my personal opinion, nurture plays a larger factor in children because of their observational tendencies. The whole idea of nature vs nurture has been an ongoing argument between psychologists. Nature vs Nurture has been a very controversial argument between psychologists for a long time now. (Moore, 2003)Positive experiences and behaviors for children can lead to better future decisions. It has been proven that children learn more from their environment and the people around them, more than anywhere else. A good example would be the videos we were watching in a prior week regarding the way violent media and video games can negatively affect the behavior of a child's growing mind. Children are born pure and vulnerable, it is up to the parents of a baby to teach the child from infancy to adulthood what life is about, as well as the differences between what is okay, what isn't, what is wrong, and what is wrong. For example, my little cousin is 6 years old, and had failed Kindergarten due to his lack of learning in school as well as at home. His father, my uncle, spends all of his time hunting, fishing, and riding four wheelers. By the age of 4, this little boy could tell you exactly how to shoot a gun, but could not read basic sentences.
