In doing so, students will assess various aspects of international management in real-world settings and recommend a future course of action to tackle potential challenges faced by the selected global organization. Some of the suggested topics to be included in the project are as follows:
Appraisal of the global business environment of the selected organization taking into account legal, political, technological, and economic perspectives in addition to ethical and sustainability issues.
An assessment of the cultural context of international management practices of the selected organization including communication, negotiation, and decision making in cross-cultural settings.
An evaluation of human resource management practices employed by the selected global organization. This should include staffing, training, compensation, motivating, and leading.
Assuming the role of a strategy consultant, formulate strategy and decide the strategy implementation mechanism for international and global operations of the selected organization.
Students will also make a presentation on their key findings and submit a written report.
The written report should not be less than 12 double-spaced pages, circa 2500 words (appendices and references may be added).
