My Media Report

This is a 2-part project. Part 1 is to keep track of all of your media usage for four weeks. All of your media includes, but is not limited to: Phone, text, internet, news, music, movies, radio, concerts, books and TV. There are apps for your phone that will keep track of your media usage through your phone. You will have to keep track of media you consume away from your phone on your own.
a. How many text messages, phone calls and posts did you make? b. How many movies and TV shows did you watch? c. Break your usage down by time spent on each separate media. d. How and when and where you use media. e. Then do a half page analysis of your usage. Was your usage as expected, more or less than? Too much, too little or about right. Why or why not. Was your usage constructive or wasting time?
Part 2 is to find out how much all of your media devices and services costs.
a. List each of the devices you use to consume media: phone, tablet, laptop/desktop, TV, radio, CD player, DVD player and so on. b. Next to each device list how much it cost or would cost to replace or upgrade. c. Then find out your service and data plan for each device. d. What services do you (or your family) subscribe to (Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, basic cable, premium channels like HBO etc.) and how much to they cost per month? e. How much do you spend on movies in theaters or to rent/download? f. How much do you spend on music or theater concerts or shows? Sporting events? g. Finally your reflection/thoughts on the cost of your media usage.
