Music Notes

Always beam together eighth notes in groups of two or four. Sixteenth notes are typically beamed together in groups of four.

Make a chart of eight (8) measures of 4/4 time signature - quadruple meter - each measure using different notes and rests to equal the needed four beats. Use a mixture of whole notes/rests, quarter notes/rests, eighth notes/rests, sixteenth notes/rests. All the beats in the measure must be fulfilled.

Make a second chart of eighth (8) measures of 3/4 time signature - triple -rhythm in the same manner as the above.

in 4/4 time each measure must have 4 beats (no more, no less). Eighth notes must be beamed together in grouping of 2 or 4 notes (no more).

In 3/4 time each measure must have 3 beats (no more, no less). but eighth notes and sixteenth notes must also be beamed in groups of 2 or 4 (no more).

in both cases the bottom number states that the quarter note gets one beat.
