For this assignment you are to take notes of your entire trip up to the Cloisters, your time at the Museum and your trip back to your final destination. The goal of this assignment is get you all to become more aware of your surroundings, something most of us take for granted, especially on a day-to-day basis. Some of the questions I'd like for you to have in mind as you make your way to the Museum and back are:
What kind of transportation did you take there? (Train, bus, car, walking)
At what time of day?
What was the demographic make up when you got on the train/bus? (women, men, adults, children, racial backgrounds, religious etc)
Did the demographic composition change during your commute? If so, when and what do you think caused that shift?
How was the walk from the train/bus into the Cloisters?
Were there signs of gentrification? If so: what were they?
