Write a traditional essay on the following topic: Which one of your skills, talents, or qualities is the most valuable (to you and/or others) and why? Generate ideas and plan first by executing the tasks listed below. Bring your completed plan to me for approval for a class grade today and to avoid losing ten points from the final essay. After I approve your plan, you should start drafting your essay. You must show me your draft as your exit ticket from the 0999 class today. Be sure to save your draft in your GSU One Drive (or by some other means). Do NOT save it on the classroom computers because it may not be there by our next class. We will do peer review of your complete, typed draft of at least 600 words in our next class session.
- Generate a list of ideas in which you explore your gifts. Write at least six possibilities.
- Choose the one item from that list you feel you can develop as an essay
- Generate a new list in which you list all the reasons that particular talent or quality is your most valuable. Write at least six things.
- Group the similar items. Use the same symbols or letters in front of similar items, or rewrite in groups.
- Choose the three groups or items that will become the main ideas for the three body paragraphs of your essay.
- Choose a method of organization: Most to least important, least to most important, time order, or space order
- Write a thesis and essay map based on your prewriting. Put your essay map (three main points for your essay) in the order based on the method of organization you chose.
- Briefly explain what technique you will use for your lead-in.
