Most challenging aspects about the Death and Dying chapter

One of the hardest, most challenging aspects about the Death and Dying chapter is confronting our own
deaths. None of us wants to do it. It is difficult, but I would like you to do your best. The purpose of this
homework is to get you to actually think about your life by writing your own obituaries. If you need some
examples, look in any newspaper (Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Howard County Times). Many papers
have a death notice/obituary section. You have to think about what you want people to know about your life.

The first obituary is realistic. You are to write the first obituary as if you died today, at your present age. When
writing this obituary, think about things you have accomplished, things you have done in your life already.
(Maximum 250 words, Include word count, Worth 15 points)
The second obituary is more idealistic. You are to write it as if you died in old age (around 80-90 years of age).
Remember that you are limited with space so think about what you would like to include. You can be somewhat
creative with this but whatever you have accomplished has to be realistically possible. (Maximum 250 words,
Include word count, Worth 15 points)
