Mixed Methods Research

Order DescriptionTruss (2001) used a longitudinal, triangulated approach in her research on the relationship between human resource management and performance using four principal research methods (questionnaires, focus groups, semi-structured interviews and secondary data). This was done in a bid to counter the limitations of the main research approach in the area (i.e. quantitative methods). What were the benefits and/or challenges of that study? Discuss these in light of the merits and demerits of the mixed-methods approach.
