Mr. Richardson founded and runs the Krimson Leadership Academy, a mentoring academy for two local elementary schools. The program was created to foster a relationship between male role models and elementary students. By mentoring the young men on skills such as self-confidence, time management to public speaking, the KLA seeks to adjust the expectations of the students. However, there has not yet been an evaluation to determine the program’s effectiveness. You have been contracted to build an evaluation plan for the program, and to create a draft of a pre, mid, and post surveys to examine outcomes. They’re consulting with you to put together two products: an evaluation plan they can follow to evaluate the program and a first draft of a short survey tool that corresponds with your evaluation plan.

Completion of AP1 relates back to our course goal of designing an evaluation, specifically learning outcome #1 of developing a basic evaluation plan for a program within an organization. You will also be applying your experience of survey questions to create an initial draft of a survey questionnaire to be used to evaluate a program and selecting an appropriate evaluation model.
