Media analysis 2

In the documentary I Am, Tom Shadyac asks two basic questions: • What’s wrong with the world? • And how can we fix it? This film identifies an “old paradigm” or belief system that is based on the “survival of the fittest” story. According to the film, this old paradigm is based on the concept of separation and competition and has created many problems over time. The “emerging paradigm” as explained in the film, is founded on a new Scientific Worldview that is based on cooperation and unity and holds great promise for a more kind and balanced world. In your secon essay, please address both paradigms as you respond to the following prompt: Media Analysis Essay: Identify three main messages from the film that stood out to you. Analyze how each message relates to what you have learned in our sociology class. • How does each message connect with core concepts and perspectives we explored in class? • What value do you see in each theme and how can it support you in your journey moving forward?
