PBL GROUP PROJECT (ExcelMates)
As a TPS HR team, or task are:
1) Consider 3 issues and challenges, relates to 3 criterias: expatriation, assignment management and repatriation.
2) Recommend the solutions for those issues.
Our report should provide all the information, knowledge and skills needed by all level of management which can assists the organization to be more successfully manages all issues that can cause expatriates failure.
What do we knows:
• See background of company in “The Guide”.
• The assignment will be to an existing TPS operation : we have choose Indonesia.
• Duration is 3 years (long-term/traditional).
• Expatriate roles: middle-level head manager
• Expatriate will be accompanied by spouse with professional employment in Australia and 3 dependent children, ages 18 months, 6 years and 14 years.
• After 3 years, expatriate will be anticipated to be at another offshore location, followed by repatriation to Australia as a more senior management position.
3 issues identified:
1) Home and family issues – consider culture shock & adaptation, language, schooling children, working chances for spouse, nursery care, new community, etc.
2) Work arrangement & responsibilities – workplace condition, subordinates, style of work, communication, etc.
3) Career development issues – repatriation culture shock, preparation/training for higher position, future success guarantee, etc.
