But the kings of the late Old Kingdom and even nobles in the First Intermediate Period did not want to look UGLY, especially in the afterlife. Come up with some explanations for positive ways of describing the Second Old Kingdom Style and what followed in the 1st IP. What might it say about Egyptians' changing views of beauty, as well as other qualities (strength, health, ability)? What characteristics might they be trying to emphasize?
