Financing of healthcare in the US
Legal and regulatory healthcare processes
Initial Post Due Thursday Midnight, CST (Brief)
Nurses can, and do, make a difference when it comes to healthcare, but many nurses do not participate in influencing the politics that ultimately affect
healthcare delivery in this country. Nurse Practitioners are often reluctant to participate in political advocacy, due to time constraints or because they feel
they are removed from influencing healthcare. However, as you have learned in this course, NP's are very important to the politics of healthcare. You are to
research a healthcare issue of importance related to FNP practice, after which you will construct a policy brief for distribution by either email or snail mail to
a local, state, or national legislator or public official. Be succinct, but get your point across by supplying pertinent information useful to the official for
decision-making.
Remember to use evidence-based references/sources for completion of this assignment.
Points possible for this assignment are 80 for your brief and 20 for discussion for a total of 100. Follow the grading rubric!
You will need to show proof of sending. You may do this by sending a copy of your email, sending a picture of the envelope, providing a copy of proof from
the post office, etc.
