Russian dramatist who developed a system of realistic acting
used today on the stage and screen. You will also watch my
recorded interview with NYC performer Dana Aber, where Aber
discusses her training, approach to creating truthful stage
characters, and gives us a sneak peak into her upcoming onewoman show.

• Part II: In chapter 4 of The Theatre Experience, Wilson encourages us to think about the
difference between acting in real life and acting on the stage. With this in mind, create a central character in a play based on yourself. What character traits does this character have? Would this character have your name, or would you give them a different name? What world is your character living in? Is this character undergoing a crisis or transformation of some kind? Is this character comedic or tragic?
