Integrating the Arts in Education

As a teacher, it is important to understand how the visual and performing arts connect to and support other
academic subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies. Developing these
connections into a usable resource will be valuable for future lesson planning and curriculum integration in
the classroom.
For this task, you will create an integrated learning activity for each of the arts (drama, visual arts, music,
dance) by selecting one of four academic content areas (math, science, social studies, language arts) to
integrate. Each of the four academic content areas will be used once in this task.
