Develop analytical competence by investigating the performance of measurement systems and quantifying its static performance. 2. Research measurement equipment and associated circuitry. 3. Describe the operation of systems with the aid of block diagrams. 4. Write a clear and concise formal technical report. Module Learning Outcomes Assessed: 3. Quantify the static performance of an instrumentation system. Assessment You are required to analyse the results of a calibration exercise on a Bourdon Pressure Gauge system. You are also required to write a formal technical report, no longer than 4 sides of A4 on your investigation of an electronic digital readout pressure measurement system. To write this report you will need to use independent learning including: research, using the library, your own books, your lecture notes and the Internet. Your report should be a complete investigation of all parts of the instrumentation system, including a description of the operation of all basic sensing, signal conditioning and display elements. Grading This assignment will contribute 50% of your final grade for this module. Note: A minimum mark of 30% must be achieved and an overall mark of 40% is required for the whole module to pass.
