What do trends/changes look like in the central city, inner ring suburbs, outer ring suburbs, rural areas? Speculate about the changes seen. (Gentrification, and zoning practices of government etc) what caused these demographic shifts? What major events occurred during those periods of time? Developments in the downtown area? Public housing construction or demolition? Shopping malls? School choice/redistricting? Major local or federal policy? Suburban growth? Come up with at least two possible explanations and use at least one an external source to verify each. Using the Opportunity Atlas website: " https://www.opportunityatlas.org/ In the second part of the assignment, you will do research on your local neighborhood (CAPITOL HEIGHTS) and compare it to the nation and West Baltimore, and you will compare it across family income groups(VERY SIMILAR INCOMES) . Tell the story of the data, as if you were talking to the Department of Planning or the Mayor’s Office (total for Part A is about a paragraph, total for Part B is about a paragraph).
