This week you learned about individual and team performance, and the importance of coaching employees when needed. We discussed how supporting an employee’s organizational commitment is one of the primary goals for every company. We also took a look at what can happen when an employee loses interest in either the job, a team, or the company as a whole.

As an employee, you will most likely find yourself working on a team. It can require much focused effort to keep a team cohesive and effectively working towards common, stated goals. For your initial post, compare and contrast the benefits and challenges of being a member of a team with regard to productivity. Use your personal experiences in a job or at school to give examples. Include in your discussion some recommendations of how a manager or team member can support the team, avoiding or managing potential conflict and why it is important.
