Find the geometry of the water tower’s wall, i.e. R = R(h) that will result in the water draining from the tower with the free surface moving. Carry out calculations for the following two cases:
- Assume that the speed of the free surface is negligible compared to the speed of the water discharging at the bottom of the tower
- Assume that the speed of the free surface is not negligible compared to the speed of the water discharging at the bottom of the tower.
Additionally, calculate the time it takes to drain each tank and the mass flow rate of water versus time.
