How to write an Humanities Paper over St. Augustine

For this first writing assignment you can chose your topic from the content in the class lectures. You can choose a either a historical event or a historical character discussed in class. Examples: Ancient Philosophy, Plato, Fall of the Roman Empire, Middle ages or Dark Ages, St. Augustine, Renaissance, Enlightenment, Protestan Reformation, Moder Philosophy, Rene Descartes, etc.

-Two sources, other than websites, are required (articles or books).

-Your paper should be written following the following structure:

1- Short introduction of your topic (context, history, background) of no more than one page.

2- Summary of source 1 (at least one full page)

3- Summary of source 2 (at least one full page)

4- Explanation of the relevance the character or event had for Western Civilization as a whole.

5- Explanation of how the readings changed you mind (or they did not) on the subject.

-This assignment must be at least 1500 words.

-Written in the Chicago writing and citation style.
