How federal Government should address FPE

On a national level, nurses have been courageously facing the COVID-19 crisis without questioning their duties. Nurses throughout the country are feeling it in different ways. One particular area is the general lack of PPE during the pandemic. Hospitals have either used up their personal protective resources or are running low and nurses, as well as other healthcare workers, are forced to reuse items which were meant to be used only once.
What are some of the issues which could arise concerning the lack of PPE for nurses and other healthcare workers?
How should the federal and governmental agencies, such as the DOH and the CDC, address the shortage of PPE?
