-
List (with Images):
- 1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
- 2 Tbsp Cream Cheese (or Hummus)
- Baby Carrots (cut into sticks)
- Chopped Cucumber
- Shredded Cheese
Speaker Notes To make our Super Duper Veggie Wraps, we'll need some special ingredients that are like little superheroes for our bodies!
- Whole wheat tortillas are a whole grain, which helps us feel full and energized.
- Cream cheese (or hummus for our vegan friends!) gives us healthy fats and protein to keep us strong.
- Baby carrots and chopped cucumber are yummy vegetables that give our bodies vitamins and minerals to help us grow tall and healthy.
- Shredded cheese is another source of protein and calcium, which helps build strong bones and teeth!
Slide 3: Wash Up!
-
Title: Wash Your Hands, Super Food Hero!
-
Image: A child washing their hands with soap and water at a sink.
-
List:
- Wash hands with warm water and soap before touching your food.
- This helps keep yucky germs away from our yummy snack!
Speaker Notes Before we become Super Food Heroes and make our wraps, it's important to wash our hands! Just like superheroes wear cool costumes, washing our hands with soap and water is our superhero suit to keep germs away from our food.
Slide 4: Spread the Magic!
Speaker Notes Now that our hands are clean, it's time to spread the creamy goodness! With a little help from an adult, we can open the cream cheese or hummus container. Then, we'll use a plastic knife to carefully spread a thin layer in the center of our whole wheat tortilla.
Slide 5: Veggie Power!
Speaker Notes Here comes the fun part, adding the veggie power! We can ask an adult to help us cut the baby carrots into sticks and chop the cucumber into slices. Then, we'll carefully place a few veggie friends on top of the cream cheese or hummus spread.
Slide 6: Cheesy Goodness!
Speaker Notes Almost there! Now, to add some cheesy goodness, we can sprinkle a little bit of shredded cheese on top of our veggie friends.
Slide 7: Wrap it Up!
-
Title: Time to Wrap Up the Fun!
-
Image: A child carefully folding the bottom of the tortilla towards the center, then folding the sides over the filling, and finally rolling up the tortilla to create a wrap.
-
List:
- Carefully fold the bottom of the tortilla towards the center, like a little taco.
- Then, fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling to hold everything in.
- Finally, gently but firmly roll up the tortilla to create a yummy wrap
