Is there a need to replace an existing health information system (HIS) application? Or, perhaps there is an opportunity to install a net-new system in your organization? For this assignment, you will begin an HIS vendor selection process for a solution to your choosing. Build and complete evaluation templates for three potential vendor solutions. In a three to five-page write-up, summarize your findings and rank the vendors, ultimately justifying your first choice. Per our text, be sure to include requirements, how prescreening was completed, how evaluation criteria were identified, and what details you would suggest for inclusion in an RFP.
Document your response in a 6-8 page paper. The paper must be doubled-spaces with 12-point font. Proper APA formatting and referencing are required. The first three pages are the vendor selection. The last three pages must be a justification for the choice. (My current job uses EPIC which would be my choice for the paper. You can also look into Cerner, but you don't have to).
