prepare a Finish Manual for a hypothetical client, a property management company that manages a large portfolio of commercial office buildings. The client wants you to evaluate all the finish materials that require regular replacement in their buildings and create a manual of standard selections that tenants and maintenance staff can choose from. The client wants only environmentally sustainable products in the manual for selection. The format of the Finish Manual is a series of 8 ½”x11” PDF pages, one product per page. The pages will be posted on the client’s internal website.
Create a template for the overall Finish Manual in PowerPoint (saved as a PDF file). Be consistent and conscientious in a choice of graphics. A suggestion is to keep it simple but effective. A single page for each material listed below will include the following information:
Finish code and name of the material
Master Format number
Digital image of the selected product
Manufacturer name and phone number
Product specification – a description that includes the material it is made of, thickness, dimensions, product name/line, product pattern/ color/number
Recycled content
Location of manufacturing plant
“Green Features” – include a minimum of 100 words that describe/support your reasons for selecting this as a sustainable material. Include green certifications.
For each of the materials in the table below, locate and select a product manufacturer and create a page that meets the sustainability requirements for the Finish Manual.
