Good citizenship.

We have discussed in class that Americans value individualism, yet they tend to be very conforming. Americans habitually engage in what is called ‘groupthink,’ which is defined below. Groupthink does contribute to stability and order in a society, but often at great personal, social, environmental and moral cost. Sometimes groupthink can be socially restrictive. Sometimes, groupthink can be positively transformative.
