Pick three subthemes or smaller topics to write about in terms of explaining the meaning of
“Global Asias and Orientalism." Your subthemes should be based on you are interested in (gender/feminism, the economy/markets, race/ethnicity, nationality/citizenship, law, technology/media, militarism/war, consumerism, globalization, religion, sexuality, class etc.). Try to weave those things into one cohesive argument that helps
explain the title of the course. Think, of them as connected and not separate. If you talk about
sexuality, religion, and war . . . you should know how to connect them together. Learn to build
you arguments and not just stack things on top of each other. Use lecture examples and materials and don't just rely on the book.
