Go to at least three children clothing stores (or the children's section in a larger department store).
Observe how the clothes are displayed, the employees that work there, and the customers. Write about
the differences you noticed and how gender is being constructed. (Hint: some things to pay attention to--
gendered language, use of color, what people are wearing, their age/race/gender, and other gendered
information that stands out to you).
