There is no congruence between the mission and the factory for Apple. They want to deliver the best technology to the masses, so this is the factory they have created. It was almost hidden and not know to the public, at least in the United States, until this report was released. To have people work extreme hours, live in hardly livable areas, and have them all eat together to only receive very little money is not was we should allow this huge company to do. These peoples lives are completely dedicated to working at their factory and they will spend the rest of their life practically slaving away. They hardly get to go home and would kill to keep their position. This is not because they want to but it is they have to in order to support themselves and their families.
The HR issues are living quarters. They are jammed into closet-sized rooms with multiple strangers. This is one unsanitary with so little room. This also can lead to harassment issues, stuffing random people in the same room can lead to problems. Another HR problem that Apple faces in this factory is the extreme amount of hours they have the employees working. Not only are these employees working extended hours they are working them back to back to back. This can go on for many many days and even go on for 10 or more days. They are working them extreme hours for little money. The money they receive for their work is not a practical wage and would not even be legal here in the United States. The fact they outsource their factory is upsetting so they can get by with this.
HR practically sets the standard for the company and those that surround them at a lower scale and those that come after the business. So, Apple was the first to create that factory in that area. They allow things to slide or go unnoticed that society will not benefit from or become better with. Those that come into the field after Apple will just play to their standards. They will only make as good as them and create a very similar environment even though it will not be better for the society in that area or improve the quality of life. HR are can make an area improve and become so much better but they also have the power to destroy an are and decrease the lifestyle there.
