Order Description
1. The skeleton of a First World War soldier has been unearthed in a farmer’s field in France. Items made of metal have also survived although no organic remains other than bone and teeth are present.
a) How could you try to determine whether he has any living descendants? (40 marks)
In order to do this, consider what sorts of metallic items might be present which could aid identification of the soldier. Also consider documentary and scientific evidence.
Once you believe that the soldier can be identified you then need to suggest how descendants can be traced and verified.
b) What should be done with the body and possessions? Explain your answer. (10 marks)
should be forensically relevant and answered scientifically
