Food production

Prepare a five-minute power-point presentation focusing your discussion on a
topic of your choice related to Global Food Production. You must have at least 5 slides, each
with some type of visual. Speaking time for each slide may vary, but the total presentation
should be approximately five-minutes. Cite your sources using APA formatting (including
visuals). All topics must be preapproved or chosen from topics that are discussed in class. You
may use the same topic in both your presentation and your Applied Essay, but you are not
required to.

Consider the following:
1) Practice your talk so that you are able to deliver it within approximately 5 minutes of speaking
time. It’s OK to be nervous, but plan out what you are going to say ahead of time.
2) Thesis Statement: After a brief introduction of your topic, you state your point of view on the
topic directly and often in one sentence. This sentence is the Thesis Statement. It serves as a
summary of the argument you'll make in the rest of your presentation.
3) What are the ideas that support your thesis statement? What is the evidence that supports the
ideas?
