First Lady- Michelle Obama

The wives of American presidents become First Ladies not through an election but because they are married to
a man who becomes president. The influence they have over their husbands and therefore the country is often
done behind the scenes. However, many modern First Ladies develop their own causes and platforms. Select
three First Ladies and discuss in detail their platform and its effectiveness. Make sure you have an introductory
paragraph with a thesis statement, one supporting paragraph for each First Lady, and a concluding paragraph
which explains which First Lady you feel was the most effective.
