How do films react to and reflect human tragedy? Steven Spielberg's Munich is based on very real events, involving real people.
For Post #4, please think about the ways in which the camera works in this film. Choose one scene from Munich, and provide an analysis of how we are either connected—or not connected to specific characters through the use of the camera. In theory, the closer we are shown a face, the more we might sympathize with the character. This is because we can see more detail and more emotion (camera and editing are often the defining factors in a screen performance—be very careful not to judge that performance is "good"—this is actually a very difficult analysis to make!! It is not the standard 1 felt that he was really that person"—an analysis of screen acting has to encompass how the performance is edited, shot, etc.!!).
In analyzing this scene, then, determine how examining how we see the character through the camera is used to cause us to have a specific reaction to that character.
