Fashion Jouranlism SHOPPING : COURSEWORK

You need: HEADLINE and a SHORT sell • Approach your shopping piece like writing a Blog. • It should be written in quite a relaxed tone, and approachable, as if you’re talking to someone –and in first person • Imagine that you’ll have £150 to spend on clothes for next spring/summer 2017. (Important) • It’s all based on the fashion trends for the season and what you will decide is your look and how it will work with your existing wardrobe. • First check the trend list and decide on your look and work it out with what’s available on the high street now. STRUCTURE: You can approach this in different ways—to follow on from the headline and sell. You may have already decided a way to write it, but here are a couple of suggestions 1. You could set it as a time table in slots such as 10-11am: 11am-noon etc outlining your activities throughout the day 2. OR you could begin by talking about what you’ve already got in your wardrobe & whether there’s a style you generally like. How do you normally shop? Do you buy a few key items or go for a whole new look? Mention the trends & concentrate on the look you’ll like. Perhaps you could go over the new trends and decide which might work for you & which won’t. • When you’ve decided on your buys, describe them and perhaps mention how you’ll wear them & put them together. • I would like at least 4 items • • Always keep an approachable, chatty tone so the copy is engaging • Include how you feel—tired, thirsty, hungry etc • Put the shopping list at the end as shown • Don’t forget to finish with a short summary
