1) Arendt tried to explain that banality of evil is something we still deal with daily in our society. She describes Eichmann and his attitudes toward Jews ordinary, terrifyingly normal. Arendt believes that Eichmann was doing nothing more than try to advance his career in the Nazi bureaucracy as any of us would try to advance in our careers now days. She further states Eichmann never realized what he was doing because his incapability of potting himself in someone’s shoes. I believe we could enter Eichmann on the list of psycho paths, he could execute or orders others to execute the worse crime against human beings and that wouldn’t bother him.
2) By ‘masks’ Fanon is analyzing the damaging psychological effects of colonialism upon black people, the psychology of racism in the dehumanization of colonial domination. For Fanon, the masks were how white would oppress the black by hiding their racist behaviors.
3) Based on Fanons experiences and his intellectual influences the idea that colonialism is a system of violence based on dialectical racial enmity became true. The dynamic of hostility between two opposing racial groups cause emotional and physical distress. Totalitarianism is seeing by resulting in the development of various neurosis such as inferiority complex or the desire to be white. The white would also degrade the culture of the colonized often representing them as inferior. In some cases punishing the black having a hand cut off by their Belgian overlords. In the Jewish genocide no hands were cut, but lives were taken for similarities reasons, like Jews were considered dirty and had to be removed from society, instead of accepting and formulating laws to place everyone on the same pages, the “whites’ prosecuted and killed thousands of innocents.
