Part A
- Select an item from a freely publicly available reusable resource that is directly
relevant to family-centred care in the UK. The item you choose can take the form of one of the
following:
a. A genogram
b. An ecomap
c. A picture or photograph of a family
d. A family-related video or music clip (up to 5 minutes)
e. A published poem (see page 2 for poem presentation requirements)
Your item must not feature your own family. - Place a copy of the item or embed an electronic link to the item on the first page of
your work. (If embedding a link to your item, ensure you check the link works before
you submit your work.) - Provide the full reference for the item (mainly from British sources).
- Briefly describe the item you have chosen and its relevance to family-centred care. (up to 400 words)
- Drawing from Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory or Erikson’s lifespan development theory, explain ways in which the item can enhance and/or inform a family-centred
care approach to caring for patients. (up to 500 words)
Part B
Using Gibbs’ cycle of reflection, write an in depth reflection on something significant
you have learnt through studying the family-centred care module and explain how you
plan to improve your nursing practice as a result of what you have learnt. (up to 500
words).
